Itinerary for The Bibleland Tour of Israel - Guided tour of Israel

Day 1 (Monday arrival): Flights from the UK to Tel Aviv (Ben Gurion). On arrival, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 2: Start the day with a panoramic view of Jerusalem from the top of Mt.of Olives, the site where Jesus first gave the Lord’s Prayer and into the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of the Agony. Continue to the Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls, then a visit to the beautifully renovated model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Onto Yad Vashem, the memorial to six million Jews, who were killed in the Holocaust. Afternoon drive to visit the picturesque village of Ein Karem (the traditional birth-place of John the Baptist).

Day 3: Your second day in Jerusalem concentrates on the sights of the Old City. You start by entering through one of the gates to the walled Old City to visit the renewed Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall, the Temple area and the colourful bazaars. Continue walking along the Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross, ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Next, drive to Mt.Zion and visit the tomb of King David the Rooms of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. If local conditions permit, in the afternoon, visit the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem and a view of the Shepherd’s Fields.

Day 4: Leaving Jerusalem, we drive north passing by Jericho, the oldest city in the world and then through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean, a beautiful preserved Roman city. Proceed to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and the carpentry workshop of Joseph. On to Safed, city of the Kabala, for a walk through the mystic alleys and a visit to a synagogue and the artist’ colony. Finally drive on to a Kibbutz Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5: Start with a drive to Golan Heights to see the fortifications before driving via Banias, source of the Jordan River, and Druze Villages. Visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue and Peter’s house at Capernaum. Visit Tabgha, where the miracle of the fish and bread took place. Continue to Tiberias for a short tour of the old centre of Jewish learning. Return to the Kibbutz Hotel for the night.

Day 6: After breakfast we drive west to Acre for a visit of the old, famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Continue to Haifa, for a panoramic sightseeing tour of the city, including the Baha’i Shrine, Persian Garden, Mount Carmel and Haifa bay. Proceed southwards to Caesarea to visit the ancient port, including the Roman Theatre and the Hippodrome.
Continue to Tel Aviv-Jaffa for a short city tour and to your hotel for overnight.

Day 7: Day at leisure in tel Aviv or an optional tour to the Dead Sea. Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Day 8: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK, or to Eilat or Tel Aviv if you have chosen to extend your visit.
